New Westpark Cameras Provide Improved Traffic Information

In a continuing partnership between the Harris County Toll Road Authority and the Texas Department of Transportation, Houston TranStar has introduced 37 new closed-circuit television cameras  along the Westpark Tollway. Timely still images of roadway conditions along the Westpark will now be available to Houston drivers. Real-time views will be seen by first responders to identify and verify incidents on the 20-mile long tollway.

The new Westpark Tollway cameras are part of a nearly 500-camera system that monitors roadway conditions around Houston, as far out as 150 miles from the city center. In addition to camera monitoring, TranStar also offers real-time traffic speeds and construction updates for area streets and highways including the Hardy Toll Road, Sam Houston Tollway and the Westpark Tollway.
