Sam Houston Tollway - Briarforest Ramps Closed

Sam Houston Tollway motorists should be advised that due to safety concerns the Harris County Toll Road Authority will close the northbound Briarforest entrance ramp and the southbound Briarforest exit ramp at 7:00 PM tonight, Thursday, January 4, 2007. An interim solution that will allow the re-opening of both the entrance and exit ramps will be implemented by close of business Friday, January 12, 2007. A permanent solution to the traffic safety problems at these locations will also be designed and implemented at a future date.

Recommended alternate routes for patrons who wish to travel northbound on the Sam Houston Tollway from Briarforest should take the frontage road southbound, U-turn at Westheimer, and proceed through the Westheimer northbound entrance ramp. Those traveling southbound on the Sam Houston Tollway can exit at the southbound Deerwood ramp or continue and exit at the Westheimer southbound ramp. Please note that police officers will be monitoring this situation for traffic control.

The Harris County Toll Authority apologizes to our patrons for any inconvenience these closures may cause and we ask for your patience while these improvements are constructed.
