Annual Tour de Houston Bike Ride Pedals Up Hardy Toll Road March 15, 2008

The Fourth Annual Guaranty Bank Tour de Houston Bike Ride will offer the unusual view of Houston from two wheels on the Hardy Toll Road. All northbound Hardy Toll Road lanes and entrance ramps will be closed the morning of Saturday, March 15, 2008, from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. The closure will extend from the Elysian viaduct in downtown Houston to the Hardy North toll plaza at the exit just north of FM 1960. Alternate routes for all northbound travel will be IH-45 and US 59. Hardy southbound lanes will remain open and will not be affected.

In addition to the northbound Hardy Toll Road, some Airport Connector drivers can expect detours. Those drivers wishing to access the northbound Hardy from the airport will be detoured to Beltway 8, where they can travel either east or west to reach US 59 or IH-45 respectively. The Airport Connector westbound to southbound Hardy will be open at John F. Kennedy Boulevard. Southbound Hardy drivers will also be able to access the eastbound Airport Connector to Bush Intercontinental Airport.

All lanes of the Hardy Toll Road will re-open no later than 4 p.m. March 15. For more information about the Tour de Houston Bike Ride, visit the official website.
