Westheimer Ramps on Sam Houston Tollway to Be Closed April 9-12, 2010

The southbound Westheimer entrance ramp will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday, April 9 through 5 a.m. Monday, April 12.  Southbound drivers wishing to access the Sam Houston Tollway will need to use the Briar Forest entrance prior to Westheimer.  This closure is necessary while a new, improved ramp is constructed.

The northbound Westheimer exit will be closed from 8 p.m. Friday, April 9 through 3 p.m. Sunday, April 11 for paving.  To get to Westheimer, northbound drivers will need to either exit at Bellaire or exit Briar Forest and make a u-turn.

These measures are part of an ongoing project which will ultimately provide three wider, safer lanes at both the northbound and southbound Westheimer ramps, to better accommodate increased traffic volumes at these locations.  Work on this project will continue through June 2010.

All closures are subject to change due to weather, emergency work, or other events.  For the most up-to-date information regarding this and other HCTRA project lane closures, access information at Houston TranStar
